Hot Springs Bark Park Update: Non-Profit
  Association Forges Ahead Despite Delays
Category: Hot Springs          Date: 03/07/09

By D. Clay Hays

Remember this?

For those that missed it, the Hot Springs Sentinel-Record ran this article back in August 2008.

We hoped to have a ground-breaking last
year but, unfortunately, we are at the mercy of the Hot Springs Parks Department's schedule and there getting to us as fast as they can!

I met with Bark Park Association President, Cindy Talbot, yesterday to discuss a new projected ground-breaking and possible dates for a Grand Opening. We would also like to announce the association finally has a new, eager and competent Secretary/Treasurer, Melissa Carrell. Melissa offers not only her acounting and record-keeping skills but a life-long love of dogs and invaluable experience from her former neighborhood dog park.

Cindy has made great headway in acquiring park benches and rounding up goodies for the Grand Opening which, we hope, will be sometime in April. However...

The Bark Park Still Needs Your Help Hot Springs!

As the Sentinel-Record ad stated, we have the land (thanks to the City of Hot Springs!) and about $40,000 to proceed with construction of the park but we still need a lot more money! Brick Sales have been slow but now that the Holidays have passed and Spring is on its way it's time to "rally the troops".

Please check out Hot Springs Bark Park Online to order your very own personalized, laser-engraved brick which will be built into a permanent display in the park. We can engrave your name, your pet's name, your company's name or whatever you like and your generous $55 donation will forever be memorialized.

Check back often over the next month or so, we'll be updating you on our progress and offering other great donation opportunities. With your help, we can make the Hot Springs Bark Park not just a reality, but the best dog park in the state!

Thanks so much for your interest..........Clay
