Hey Boys & Girls,
Sorry I've been silent for so long. Life gets in the way here too, just like it does at your house. Boy, have we got some catching up to do!
Lake Hamilton seems to be as busy as ever, despite high fuel prices and a poor economic outlook. Perhaps my theory is finally proven correct? You see, I've always said that those who participate in boating for recreation will do so regardless of gas prices. That's what they do! Golfers golf, racer boys race, movie goers go to the movies - and boaters by God boat!
We'll see soon enough as Entergy announced it is time for their "every six years usage study" required by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. They'll be visiting boat launching areas to count vehicles, vessels and people, and flying over Lakes Hamilton & Catherine to calculate boating density. I don't need a helicopter ride to tell them the boats are thick out there!
Spring storms certainly helped to kick-start my season at Boat Safe Towing & Rescue! Umbrellas and patio furniture didn't stand a chance on several occasions, not to mention boats and even docks. Here's one of the tragedies I handled after an April storm; the boat used to be suspended under that roof by a sling lift until they were both blown "out to sea" by a mini tornado!

A perfect example of the power of Mother Nature - the 4X6 posts that held the thing up were snapped off like toothpicks. People came out on their decks all along my route back to home port, just to take pictures. Guess it's not something you see every day? Well, let me tell you, towing that bad-boy in a torrential down-pour was no picnic either!
That's it for tonight, I'm whooped from dealing with the sunken boat from last weekend (tell you about that later)....Clay
